Bunratty U13 Girls v Newmarket Celtic

The U13s girls put in an impressive display against Newmarket in Woulfe Park. Newmarket started off the stronger side and tested keeper Abbie O'Gorman to her limits. A backline of Lucy Lohan, Grace McNamara, Kate Kearney and Lara Magee had to dig in deep.

Bunratty took the lead rather fortuitously when Caolinn Early broke on the counter attack, but was cut off at the pass by a retreating Newmarket defender. However, the defender was not getting away without a fight as Caoilinn pressed her straight away, taking advantage of a poor touch to finally finish off the chance she started off.

The rest of the match was very much backs against the walls, as Newmarket probed and dominated the ball everyone had to do their share in the heat. Eventually the hard work would pay off with respite of the final whistle.

Tough day for the 12s in the heat. Goals on the night coming from Gavin Jones and Rory Jones. Plus a big thanks to Ethan, Matthew and Ollie for making the step up in age group to help out!
