Monday 14th August
U15 Girls Cup; Bridge Utd v Bunratty Cratloe FC
Bunratty got off to a solid start, getting the better of play in the opening 20 minutes. Bridge grew into the game as the half went on and both teams would create goalscoring chances. Unfortunately, Bridge would break the deadlock just before half time finally finding a way past the outstanding Emma Jones. Bridge would grab a second shortly after, punishing an error in the defence to go into the break two goals to the good. A very young Bunratty squad could not assert themselves in the second half, and Bridge held on to the result.
Special thanks goes to Evie Harkins and Sophie Connolly stepping up from the U14s, and Sophie Doherty and Emma Jones stepping up from the U13s.
U13 Girls Division 1A; Tulla v Bunratty Cratloe FC
The 13s got off to a flying start in Tulla with Caoilinn Early poking home a Cara Early freekick. Unfortunately, the girls were cuaght out twice on the break to fall behind but another goal from Caoilinn Early pulled things back. Bunraty had chances to win with Cara Early hitting the post and Faye Harrington forcing a great save from a solid Tulla goalkeeper.
Tuesday 15th August
U12 Boys Blue League; Bunratty Cratloe Blues v Newmarket Celtic Whites
Well done to the lads, with a great performace and goals all round.
U14 Boys Division 2; Moher Celtic v Bunratty
The 14s made the trip to Lahinch to take on Moher in a very competitive game. With both defences and goalkeepers being tested early on, it would be Moher who took the lead after some nice through play and a lovely finish. Bunratty shaked off the cobwebs and would respond magnificently firing three goals in to take a cushion into the half time break.
The action continued in the second half with Moher winning and expertly dispatching a penalty kick. Moher cranked up the pressure for the last 10 minutes, but Bunratty gave their all to see the game out.
