On Thursday night our U14s turned out again against Bridge Utd in a very wet Frank Healy Park in the league playoff.
Bridge took the lead within the first 20 minutes and would hold the lead until halfway through the second half. The equaliser came after a phenomenal sequence of play and a cut back from Donnacha and finished by Ollie. Some further great passages of play would follow but no change to the scoreline, remaining at 1-1. Just like the league table, both sides couldn’t be separated, extra time beckoned.
Constant battling from both sides, with several shots at goal from Ollie, Mark, Conor, Cian and Rory but they werent to be. Our backline were once again excellent and kept solid throughout.
With penalties looking inevitable, a breakthrough would come in the dying minutes of the match with Mark tipping one in off a curling corner. 2-1 to BCFC. The guys held their nerve till the end until the final whistle blew to take home the title.
A fantastic game of football a fitting finish to a titanic league campaign between two insuperable sides.
