Our junior team and our U17's both tasted defeat last weekend. The official report on the Junior match is below as published on the CDSL facebook page. Our guys strongly believe that the result (and the report!) did not do their efforts justice. All eyes on the cup match at home to Newmarket Celtic next Sunday now. Our U17's lost 5-2 away to Tulla but continue to improve match on match. We are watching their development with interest and have our eyes on a number of the players as having the potential to shine for many years to come with the Junior team.
Bunratty Cratloe 2-3 Bridge Utd B
Neighbours clashing with Bunratty Cratloe booked for a play off spot it was the Bridge men who needed the three points to maintain their hopes of promotion. They managed to obtain these points but only after a tough battle. Bridge B started the brighter and were duly rewarded when inside the opening 20 minutes some lovely ball playing by Man of the Match Eric Carr set up Jay White and Kieran Quinlan to cruise into a two goal lead. The second division is nothing if not competitive this season and so it was proven again today as Bunratty Cratloe roared back into the game either side of half time. Firstly they scored a super free kick on the stroke of half-time and began to dominate proceedings for the next half hour and levelling the game on 70 minutes. The Bridge men wouldn’t be denied as they hunt down a promotion spot when Man of the Match Eric Carr again proved the difference in the 85th minute teeing up Quinlan for the winner. Heartbreak for Bunratty Cratloe and joy for the Bridge as they keep up their promotion charge. Man of the Match Eric Carr.
