SATURDAY 21sr AUGUST

Suttons Lighting Third Division - 6.30pm KO

BunrattyCratloe FC 4

Goals: Adam Harrington x2, Jimmy Houlihan & Emmet Costigan

Manus Celtic 1

Referee: Sean Kenneally

The scoreline tonight certainly does not reflect the game as BunrattyCratloe ran out 4-1 winners over Manus Celtic B this evening. Manus started on the front foot and had Bunratty finding it hard to get out of their own half. On ten minutes Manus Celtic should of taken the lead with a great strike but a save from Andy Lees kept the sides level. Manus again kept the pressure on and were unlucky not to get infront. Against the run of play Bunratty had a counter attack and some good play from Dylan Kerr with a through ball found Adam Harrington who slotted home a lovely finish to put them 1-0.

Bunratty started to come into the game and started to create chances and a lovely cross from Dylan Kerr was headed home by Jimmy Houlihan to put bunratty 2-0. Manus to their credit didn't let the heads go down and a great delivery from a corner was headed home to bring Manus back into the game deservedly. At half time it was Bunratty Cratloe 2-1 Manus B.

As the second half got under way Manus again piled on the pressure but just couldn't hit the back of the net. It proved costly as great play on the left from Colin Melody with a low cross found its way to the back post for Adam to get his second goal of the game to regain the 2 goal advantage for bunratty. Manus had some fantastic chances with 3 chances in 5 minutes but again it wasn't their day.

The game was wrapped up with a few minutes to go when the ball found Emmet Costigan who hit it home from 12 yards to ensure a hard fought for BunrattyCratloe in the opening game of the season. Speaking to the joint management team Paddy Twomey and Dean Russell they were relieved when the full time whistle and admitted the scoreline didn't reflect on tonight's game and that Manus B are a very strong side.

Next up is an away fixture to Shannon Town C.
