Bunratty Cratloe 0-0
The Ladies preseason continued at pace as they took on Sixmilebridge.
The encounter would turn out to be a very tough affair for the Ladies as The Bridge proved to be resolute and took no nonsense in defence.
Bunratty dominated possession for the first half as they set up camp in the opposition half and constantly probed the Bridge defence. Ultimately, chances would be at a premium as the Bridge restricted most shooting opportunities to long range.
The pick of the limited first half opportunities would occur as a result of good pressure from Tara Carew on the Bridge back line resulting in the ball running free for Amanda Madden. Unfortunately, the angle was too tight as Amanda’s well placed finish would hit the far post and rebound to safety.
The second half would start off on a similar tone to the first, with Bunratty dominating play but chances proving scarce. With 20 minutes to go the chance of the game would present itself, as Amanda Madden was played through 1v1 but the keeper would prove to be her equal.
The Bridge grew into the half, making the game physically competitive and providing a dangerous counterattacking threat. In the end, this would be a day defences ended up on top as neither team could force the issue.
