The junior team finally got their hands on the league trophy yesterday in Bunratty in their final league game of the season. Originally the fixture had us away but a very kind gesture by Ennis Dons in giving up home advantage so that we could be presented the league trophy in Bunratty on home soil. A big thanks to the Ennis Dons team and management.
Safe to say they did it in style by beating second placed Ennis Dons 6-1 in Woulfe Park. Sean Burke got a double, Darren Lindsay, Colin Melody Dylan Kerr and Jimmy Houlinan all got onto the score sheet.
Dean Russell commented: "This win meant we won the league by 10 points to complete the double and now set our eyes on the league cup semi final with a big chance of completing the first ever treble in the Third Division in Clare. Hard work has paid off for myself and Paddy Twomey as joint managers of the junior team and hopefully we will bring in our 3rd trophy of the season within the next few weeks".
Well done to all the lads and coaches on this great achievement. Enjoy the celebrations.
